Through the reading and preaching of God's Word, our faith in Christ Jesus is refreshed and renewed. Our Lord Jesus comes to us bodily as he gives us his true body and true blood to drink in the Lord's Supper. Through these means, God forgives our sins and grants us salvation.
Our sermons immerse us in and apply God's Word to our lives - calling us to repent of our sins, showing us how we may live in Jesus, and declaring us forgiven for the sake of Christ's finished work on the Cross.
Our services are rooted in the Bible and shaped by the worship practices of the early Christians. Each week, we pray a Psalm, read an Old Testament passage, hear from the Epistles of the New Testament, and most importantly read from one of the four Gospels of the New Testament. We sing traditional Christian hymns and African American Gospel hymns, as well as some contemporary selections. Special music is an integral part of our worship, with our choir and musicians providing us the setting in which to reflect on God's love for us through instrument and song.
